Hockey Canada is going with a veteran group of former NHLers for the upcoming Olympics.  They include Rockland’s Derek Roy and former Senator Chris Kelly. Ottawa’s Eric O’Dell also making the squad.

 

 

At Air Canada Centre, the Toronto Raptors all over the Cleveland Cavaliers 133-99.

 

 

Baseball players an their teams swap proposed salaries in arbitration today. Toronto’s Josh Donaldson is among the more than 170 players headed to the exchange. Most are likely to reach agreement today — the busiest day of the off-season. Donaldson can become a free agent after this season and is expected to command a one-year deal approaching or exceeding 20-million dollars U-S.

 

 

Chris Kirk and Zach Johnson share the lead heading into the second round of the Sony Open in Hawaii. They both shot 7 under 63’s yesterday. Mac Hughes of Dundas, Ontario and Corey Conners of Listowel, Ontario are the low Canadians with even-par 70’s. Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ontario is at 71.

 

 

The Canadian figure skating championships continue today at the University of British Columbia. Kaetlyn Osmond and Gabrielle Daleman will participate in the women’s short program. Osmond and Daleman finished 1-2 at last year’s national championship.
