A productive night for Mark Stone. He scored twice and added three assists as the Ottawa Senators downed New Jersey 7-3. It was Ottawa’s first game since a video of seven Senators players criticizing the team was leaked on the internet. Matt Duchene, one of the players in the video, had three assists in the win.

Frederik Andersen was nearly perfect as the Maple Leafs beat Vegas 3-1 on home ice. Andersen stopped 36-of-37 shots and Mitch Marner scored his fifth of the season for Toronto. Around the ice, Montreal let a late lead slip in a 5-3 loss to the New York Rangers, Vancouver fell 3-2 in a shootout in Detroit, and the Oilers were dropped 5-2 by the Lightning.

The Flames are hoping to extend their win streak when they visit Anaheim in one of only three games on tonight’s N-H-L schedule. Calgary has won four straight heading into the matchup and sits in first place in the Pacific Division. Around the ice, Pittsburgh will look to snap a two-game slide as it takes on the Capitals in Washington and Colorado hosts the Predators, who have won three in a row.

The Canadian’s women’s hockey team opened its Four Nations Cup with a 6-1 win over Sweden in Saskatoon. The United States beat Finland 5-1 in its opener earlier in the day. The two rivals will meet tonight for the first time since the Americans beat Canada in a shootout to win the Olympic gold medal in February.

Rookie Luka Doncic scored 23 points and Dennis Smith Junior made three key plays down the stretch as the Dallas Mavericks ended a six-game losing streak by beating the Washington Wizards 119-100. It was the Mavericks’ 16th win in their last 17 meetings with Washington.

The red-hot Raptors cap their west coast road swing against the Kings in Sacramento tonight. Toronto has won four straight, even while missing superstar Kawhi (kah-WY’) Leonard. The Raptors are 10-and-1 on the season. Leonard was out last game because of a foot injury but he could return tonight.

Canada has its first loss at the CONCACAF men’s under-20 championships in Florida. The Canadian squad fell 2-1 to Panama in group play for its first defeat in three games. The tournament serves as a regional qualifier for next year’s under-20 World Cup. Canada continues group play Thursday against St. Kitts and Nevis.

The Washington Nationals say they made an offer to Bryce Harper late in the season in an attempt to reach a deal before he became a free agent. Nationals G-M Mike Rizzo disclosed the talks at the general managers’ meetings but said the sides couldn’t agree on a deal. Rizzo said he’s not “closing any doors” on future negotiations with Harper.
