There are 11 Redblacks named to the CFL east division all-star team.

Record breaking receiver Brad Sinopoli, along with receiver Greg Ellingson and running back William Powell highlight the players from the offence.

On defence, players like Jonathan Rose and special teams players include record-setting place kicker Lewis Ward.

All 11 will be in the roster for the CFL east final a week from Sunday.

The Redblacks host the winner of this weekend division semi final between the BC Lions and Hamilton Ticats.

Ryan Getzlaf salvaged two points for the Ducks. He scored 27 seconds after Calgary got a tying goal in the third period, and the Ducks beat the Flames 3-2 in Anaheim. The Flames trailed 2-0 in the first but rallied to tie it six minutes into the third on Mark Jankowski’s short-handed goal. Matthew Tkachuk also scored for Calgary.

Loren Gabel had a reason to smile depsite the final score. Gabel scored her first career goal for the Canadian women in a 2-1 loss to the United States at the Four Nations Cup in Saskatoon. It was the first meeting between the two teams since the Americans prevailed 3-2 in a shootout in the Olympic final in February.

Tye Felhaber could be joining a special group of 67’s scorers. The former Ottawa Valley Titan scores his 20th and 21st goals in 20 games leading the  67’s to an entertaining 6-4 win over the visiting Kingston Frontenacs.   Could the undrafted free agent keep up this pace of a goal-a-game over an entire season?  If he can he’ll join the likes of Peter Lee, Bobby Smith, Jimmy Fox, Moe Lemay and Alyn McCauley.

The red-hot 67’s now hold an 11-point lead in the OHL’s Eastern Conference.

Kawhi Leonard looked good in his return from an ankle injury. Leonard had 25 points and 11 rebounds and the Raptors beat the Sacramento Kings 114-105 on the road to improve the N-B-A’s best record to 11-and-1. Toronto has won five straight since its lone loss this season at Milwaukee on October 29th.

Player agent Scott Boras had a lot to say at the M-L-B general managers’ meeting in Florida. Boras claims rebuilding teams have become a “competitive cancer” that caused this season’s 4 per cent attendance drop. He says that the Blue Jays suffered from the “blue flu” after they had the biggest attendance decrease amongst all 30 teams.

Defending champion Brad Gushue is off to a strong start at the Tour Challenge. Gushue downed Toronto’s John Epping 10-8 to move to 2-and-0 at the third stop on the Grand Slam of Curling circuit. Meanwhile, two-time women’s Tour champion Kerri Einarson of Winnipeg is 2-and-0 after downing Edmonton’s Chelsea Carey 7-3.

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been ruled out of Sunday’s game at Green Bay because of a throwing shoulder injury. Backup Brock Osweiler will make his fifth consecutive start. Coach Adam Gase says the goal is for Tannehill to return for the Indianapolis game November 25th. The Dolphins have a bye next week.
