The Florida Panthers outscore the Senators 7-5 at Canadian Tire Centre.  Another goal from the rookie Drake Batherson.  A video tribute for former Senator Mike Hoffman.

A productive night for Patrik Laine. He scored three goals, including an empty-netter late to seal the game, and the Winnipeg Jets downed the Canucks 6-3 in Vancouver. Bryan Little, Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor also scored for Winnipeg. Laine is tied with Shiefele for the team lead with 11 goals.

Lars Eller scored in overtime to lead the Washington Capitals to a 5-4 comeback victory over the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre. Alex Ovechkin scored twice for the Capitals and Brett Connolly and Nicklas Backstrom also scored. Eller scored the winner with 1:26 left in overtime when he beat Price with a soft wristshot between the pads.

Make it four straight wins for the Maple Leafs. Zach Hyman scored the go-ahead goal late in the third, then tacked on an empty-netter as Toronto doubled up the Blue Jackets 4-2. Elsewhere, Calgary hammered the Golden Knights 7-2.

Anthony Davis had 29 points and nine rebounds as the New Orleans Pelicans beat San Antonio 140-126 for their third straight win. Julius Randle added 21 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in 25 minutes for New Orleans. Around the league, the Clippers rallied past the struggling Atlanta Hawks 127-119 to win their fifth straight game.

A solid performance from Canada’s R-J Barrett. The young basketball star poured in a game-high 20 points as Duke cruised to a 90-64 pounding of San Diego State at the Maui Invitational. Barrett is expected to be the Number-1 pick in the 2019 N-B-A draft.

Jared Goff threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Gerald Everett for the go-ahead score with 1:49 to play, and the Los Angeles Rams outlasted the Kansas City Chiefs 54-51 in the N-F-L Monday Night game. Patrick Mahomes threw six touchdown passes in his latest jaw-dropping performance for the Chiefs, but he also threw two interceptions in the final 1:18.
