The Sens won’t have Matt Duchene in the lineup when they take on the Ducks tonight in Anaheim.  Duchene staying home with his wife, awaiting the arrival of their first child.

The Canadiens win on the road, 3-2 over the Wings. Erik Karlsson picks up three assists for the second game in a row in San Jose’s 7-2 rout of Edmonton.

Bruins blank Minnesota 4-0.  Sabres defeat the Devils 5-1.  Jets outscore the Avalanche 7-4.

The  67’s add to their already powerful lineup, acquiring  forward Kyle Maksimovich from the Erie Otters for a number of draft picks.

Toronto Raptors beat Vince Carter and Atlanta Hawks 104-101.

Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime plays fellow 18-year-old Christopher Eubanks in the second round of Australian Open qualifiers today. Auger-Aliassime is the second-seeded player in the qualifying draw and is ranked 106th in the world. His American opponent is unseeded and sits 171st on the A-T-P Tour.

Ryan Fry returns to the spotlight today at the Grand Slam of Curling’s Canadian Open in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Fry is back with Brad Jacobs’ team following a seven-week break to focus on growth and self-improvement. Fry’s break came after he was ejected from the Red Deer Curling Classic in November. Organizers said that ejection stemmed from unsportsmanlike behaviour resulting from excessive drinking.
