A rough NHL debut for Ottawa 67’s goalie Mikey DiPietro.  The 19 year old starting in net for the Vancouver Canucks and it didn’t go well.   He let in 7 goals in a 7-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks.

DiPetro was called up from the 67’s last week and started because Jacob Markstrom was sidelined with a lower body injury.

The Penguins snap a four-game losing skid with a 4-1 win over the Flyers and the Capitals defeat the Kings 6-4.

The Senators facing a snowstorm and the Hurricanes.   Carolina in town in what could be the final home game for the a number of Sens. They leave on a four-game road trip  tomorrow and with the trade deadline fast approaching.

Mark Gasol makes his Toronto debut for the Raptors in a 127-125 victory over Brooklyn.  The Spanish centre was impressive in a key stretch during the fourth quarter, scoring nine of Toronto’s first 11 points in the quarter.

CFL free agency kicks off today and for Redblacks fans the big question is will they re-sign quarterback Trevor Harris?

Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime has been eliminated from the Argentina Open. The Montreal teenager was defeated 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 by Christian Garin of Chile in the first round match at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. Auger-Aliassime converted on 5 of 12 break points as opposed to six breaks for Garin.
