It’s an off day for Canada at the world hockey championship in Slovakia. The Canadians improved to 2-and-1 through round-robin play yesterday by edging the hosts 6-5. There are four games on tap today. Among them, Germany will look to stay undefeated when it faces France and Britain tries for its first win when it takes on Denmark.

The N-B-A’s Western Conference Finals tip off tonight at Oracle Arena with the Golden State Warriors hosting the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 1. Portland needed seven games to get past the Denver Nuggets in the West’s semifinal. That series wrapped up on Sunday night. Defending champion Golden State, meanwhile, hasn’t played since Friday’s Game-6 win over Houston. The Toronto Raptors have one more day off before starting the Eastern Conference Finals in Milwaukee tomorrow.

The Toronto Blue Jays kick off a two-game road series against the Giants in San Francisco tonight. It’s the second time Toronto is playing the Giants in three weeks. Germany’s Alexander Zverev begins his Italian Open tennis tournament today against home crowd favourite Matteo Berrettini. Zverev is ranked fifth in the world and seeded fourth at the Masters 1000 event. The 22-year-old is still looking for his first A-T-P title of the year. The 23-year-old Berrettini is ranked 33rd and is from the tournament’s host city of Rome.
