The last game of the N-H-L season happens tonight when St. Louis and Boston faceoff for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. The Bruins thumped the Blues on the road 5-1 in Game 6 to force the series back to Boston’s T-D Garden. Home-ice advantage is what teams play for in the regular season, but the Bruins are just 7-and-5 at home in the playoffs.

Toronto’s Edwin Jackson might have the matchup he needs to get his first win of the season. Jackson has struggled to get on track and is 0-and-4 with the Blue Jays. But he’s 6-and-1 in 11 career games against Baltimore. The Orioles host the second game of a three-game set tonight after taking the opener 4-2.

Former Canadian international soccer player Kaylyn Kyle says she has received death threats for her T-V criticism of the U-S team for excessive goal celebrations in its 13-0 rout of 34th-ranked Thailand yesterday at the Women’s World Cup in France.

It was the largest margin of victory in tournament history — and the Americans did not hold back on the celebrations as they began defence of their World Cup crown.

The N-B-A says Toronto’s Marc Gasol should have been given two free throws with 49 seconds left of Game 5 of the N-B-A Finals in Toronto _ a game that the Raptors lost to Golden State by one point. The N-B-A says in its ‘Last Two Minute Report’ that Gasol was fouled by the Warriors’ DeMarcus Cousins on a drive.

One of the hi-lights of the local baseball season is this weekend.   The Cuban national team hits RCGT Park for a three game series with the Ottawa Champions. This is part of a North American tour by the Cuban team.

According to the Citizen this visit was in doubt for some time.  There was a problem getting players visas from the Canadian embassy in Havana, so the embassy in Mexico was used instead. Canada’s embassy staff in Havana is reduced due to continuing medical issues. Embassy staff form both Canada and the states have reported concussion like issues over the past couple or years.

Calgary Cavalry was the first Canadian Premier League club through to the third round of the Canadian championship with a 2-1 win over Hamilton Forge. Cavalry F-C meets Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps in the next round of the domestic tournament to determine Canada’s representative in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Canada’s Milos Raonic hits the court this morning (6:30 a-m Eastern) for second-round action at the Stuttgart Open. Raonic faces Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France. The Canadian is playing in his first tournament since suffering a right knee injury in late March. He was the runner-up last year at the A-T-P Tour 250 event.

The 2019 C-F-L season will start 30 minutes earlier than expected thanks to the Raptors. Thursday’s game between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders will begin at 7 p-m Eastern instead of 7:30 p-m., in an effort to avoid too much overlap with Game 6 of the N-B-A Finals between the Raptors and Golden State Warriors. The Raptors-Warriors game begins at 9 p-m Eastern.
