Trevor Harris had a strong performance in Vancouver. Harris and the Edmonton Eskimos picked apart the B-C. Lions en route to a 33-6 win. The Eskimos quarterback threw for 276 yards, completing 22-of-28 attempts, including two touchdown passes. Harris also darted across the goal line to score a T-D himself.

The Ottawa Redblacks are in action tomorrow at TD Place stadium taking on the Montreal Alouettes at 4:00pm.

Purolator’s “Tackle Hunger Day”, an annual food drive for the Ottawa food bank, will take place during the game. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods or cash donations.

The Thunder have traded Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul, first-round picks in 2024 and 2026, plus the right to swap first-rounders in two other seasons. The Thunder also got five first-rounders in the trade with the Clippers for Paul George last week.

Canadian Alena Sharp has set herself up for her first win on the L-P-G-A Tour. The 38-year-old from Hamilton and Youngin Chun of South Korea shared the Marathon Classic lead after opening with 7-under 64s. Fellow Canadian Brooke Henderson is 4 under.

Simona Halep stands between Serena Williams and her 24th Grand Slam championship. Williams has reached the Wimbledon women’s singles final for the 11th time by mowing down Barbora Strycova, 6-1, 6-2. Halep is in the Wimbledon final for the first time following a 6-1, 6-3 rout of Elina Svitolina.

Lance Lynn has a major league-best 12 wins after another strong outing. Lynn matched his season high with 11 strikeouts in seven stellar innings and the Texas Rangers beat the A-L West-leading Houston Astros 5-0. It was the only game scheduled as Major League Baseball returned from the All-Star break.

Jake Marisnick’s home plate collision with Jonathan Lucroy last weekend has earned the Astros outfielder a two-game suspension. Lucroy was carted off the field following last Sunday’s collision. The Angels catcher sustained a concussion and broken nose. Marisnick was called out for colliding with Lucroy and the call was upheld after a crew chief review.

Former New York Jets head coach Walt Michaels has died at age 89, according to the team. The former Browns linebacker ran the Jets’ defence when they won Super Bowl 3 under coach Weeb Eubank in 1969. He later led the 1982 Jets to the A-F-C title game and was 39-47-and-1 as head coach from 1977 to 82.
